Why soy wax and not paraffin?

The scented candle is made from soy wax from organic soybeans. We have chosen to use this wax as it comes from a renewable crop and is biodegradable. In this way, it has a minimal impact on the environment.

The candles of soy wax burn with a nice and clear flame. The burning time is usually longer at the same time as these candles soot less than candles made of paraffin.
Paraffin, which is a much cheaper material, contains residual products from the oil industry. And another alternative, Stearic, is made from both vegetable oils and animal oils.
We have neither paraffin nor stearic in our candles.

Since soy wax is a soft wax with a low melting point, it is important that the wick is trimmed to a length of 0.5 - 1 cm. Pinch the wick when the light is off before it lights up so the candles do not burn unnecessarily fast or with too high a flame.

Due to the low melting point, it is easy to wash off any stain at 60 degrees.

Fragrance oil or essential oil?
A fragrance oil is a synthetically produced product.
An essential oil is extracted from the plant kingdom.

Both essential oils and fragrances can be irritating and allergenic. Essential oils also have an ability to evaporate, which can make it difficult to keep the scent in a scented candle.

We have chosen to use a phthalate-free fragrance oil that is suitable for scented candles. A scent that is stable and also gives a nice scent from the light even after the light is off. Our scented candles contain 8% fragrance oil.

How do I handle my scented candle?
In order to get a maximum burning time, you should let the candle burn for 1-3 hours. Let the wax be completely liquid on top all the way to the edge of the bowl before you turn it off.

If you burn the candle for a short time, you risk to make a puddle or a tunnel under the wick.

Break or cut the wick to about 0.5 - 1 cm before turning on the light again. Then you get a reasonably long wick that gives a nice flame and the light burns at a reasonable pace. Should the wick become too high or start sooting, turn off the light and let it cool for a while. Then cut off the wick and turn on the light again.

When the candle is burnt down, place it upside down on a piece of newspaper or kitchen paper in the oven on very low heat for a few minutes. Then the last wax flows out and the small plate that holds the wick falls out. Wipe the bowl with kitchen paper, and then wash it as usual.

Do not forget to throw the small wick holder made of metal in the correct recycle bin. Never leave your candle unattended and follow the instructions that comes with this product.
